Murmuration of Starlings is a sampler of some of the themes that Army of Caterpillars bases their improvisations on. This EP manages to capture a little of their 'melting glass' sound which is generated through the employment of 'full-range' instrumentation, which, coupled with the musical diversity of the players, truly creates an atmosphere like no other.

Army of Caterpillars consists of Simon Kenneally-fretless guitar, Liz Khumprakob-cello/viola, Jason White-fretless bass/trombone and Nathan Zickefoose-tablas/fretless bass. The project was formed for the purpose of supplying the musical entertainment for the Youngstown State University graduating senior art show at the McDonough Museum of Art.
